Frequently Asked Questions
How much will my tree service cost?
Each tree is different, so Iron Root Tree Service bases our pricing on access (Can our crew easily reach the tree?), the size of the tree, the level of difficulty (Is the tree dead? Are there wires involved?), and the amount of clean up (Do you want us to haul away all of the debris or leave you some fire wood?). Because of these factors, one of our representatives will come out to give you an estimate before your job is scheduled.
How can I set up an estimate?
Please complete this online form or call our office 352-665-7668 (ROOT) between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., and let us know what tree work you need done. A representative of our company will contact you soon.
Are estimates free?
Yes, we offer estimates free of charge. It is most helpful if trees are marked (for example, with tape or ribbon), so we know exactly which trees you’d like us to look at in case you are not home. Estimates are normally given within 1-2 days after you call our office, unless you specify otherwise. It is helpful if you provide us with your work and/or cell phone numbers.
Do I need to be there when the estimate is given?
No. If you are not home when the estimate is given, our representative will leave a card in your mailbox or front door listing the prices for the specified tree work. If further dialog is needed, you will receive a follow-up call.
What steps should I follow once the estimate is given?
If you approve of the price listed on the estimate, give our office a call, and we will put your job on our schedule. If there are various price options listed on your estimate, be sure to specify which you have selected.
How and when do I pay?
Upon completion of your job, our job foreman can receive your payment at time of tree service. We accept cash or checks.
My tree is not accessible for a bucket truck. Can you still trim it?
Yes, we have experienced climbers who are able to accomplish many jobs unreachable with equipment.
Is stump grinding included in the estimate?
Stumps will be left approximately six inches from ground level unless specified to the contrary in the estimate. Stump grinding is not included our service, unless agreed upon in the estimate. Please note that stump grinding does not include removal of the stump grindings.
Can I keep my wood for firewood?
Yes, we prefer to give all firewood to you, our customer, and/or your contacts. Doing this can significantly reduce your bill.
Can you trim my trees at any time of the year?
Yes, we work year round! In summer (the growing season of a tree), it is easiest to evaluate the health of the tree and do minor trimming or thinning. However, during November through January (a tree’s dormant stage), it is the best time for the health of a tree to do heavier pruning.
What can I do to prepare for the crew’s arrival?
Please move vehicles and lawn or garden equipment from the area where the tree work will be done, unlock your gate when you know the crew will be starting their work, and make sure animals are leashed or secured.
